The farmhouse dates back to the Domesday Book (1086) and is set on 16 acres of farmland and woodland, with streams and woodland walks. For the wildlife enthusiast there is a wealth of local flora and fauna to be seen in the surrounding countryside. On the farm there are sheep and horses, while in the woods badgers, foxes and even deer can be seen. For the ornithologists amongst you, owls, buzzards and other species of birds can be sighted. With Dartmoor only a few miles to the west, and the coastline with many Blue Flag beaches with safe swimming within easy reach, Hayne Barton is the place for that Bed & Breakfast break or longer stay. All rooms are en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities, and are equipped with remote control colour TV. The food is traditional, wholesome home cooked fayre. Vegetarians can be catered for. Notification would be required at the time of booking for special dietary requirements. For those of you wishing to dine out in the evening, there are many public houses within a 4-mile radius, all serving a wealth of good local food. Well behaved pets are welcome. |
