The ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday or week-end break in a Devon country cottage. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, with superb views over the Alphinbrook Valley towards Dartmoor, these three skilfully converted former barns and annexe to Grade 2 listed main farmhouse occupy a site mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. Within easy reach of the Heritage Coast of Devon and its famous Jurassic sites.

All four cottages are full of character and charm, with exposed beams, etc. In 16 acres of woods, streams, orchards and fields incorporating a nature trail, there is lots of wildlife including badgers and deer, in addition to the horses, Jacobs sheep and other animals on the farm. Stabling is available for visitors who wish to bring their horses or ponies.

Our properties are only 4 miles from the centre of the ancient university city of Exeter with its shopping precincts, magnificent decorated cathedral, Guildhall, Roman connections, 17th century Customs House on Quay (film location for The Onedin Line TV Series) and many restaurants. Hayne Barton is a hub for all these attractions and more. Dartmoor and the South Coast, including the Exe Estuary and its bird sanctuary, are easily accessible. The Eden Project is an easy 90 minute drive from Hayne Barton. Within easy reach are also numerous Golf Clubs, including the renowned Woodbury Park course. There are also an assortment of traditional pubs within 2-4 miles of Hayne Barton serving real ales and traditional country fayre.

Additional guests may be accomodated on a bed and breakfast basis in our Grade II listed Farmhouse.

We are only 8 miles from Exeter Airport, 4 miles from the M5 motorway and 1 mile from the A30.

Hayne Barton is the home of renowned Jazz Pianist Craig Milverton and is a favourite haunt of musicians, artists and writers alike for it's solitude, inspirational scenery and relaxed atmosphere.
